  1. Interesting piece – a bit of a dry academic read, but strong points. I quarrel with the pyramid. I think it is upside down. I think a strong and healthy oranization is the foundation for serving its performers, who deserve to be at the top! The role of an organization, its executive team and management team is to build/create/structure and support its people, because without them no goals will be achieved, targets met or altruistic aims be championed. Possibilities are within people. Limitations are the product of organizations. Empowering individuals – wherever you see that work well – is based on trusting them, recognizing they will make mistakes and have shortcomings, and their success makes the organization stronger – not the other way ’round.
